## What is E-5IF?

The Energy Five Imperatives Framework (E-5IF) is a structured decision-support tool that helps policymakers, regulators, and energy professionals compare energy policy alternatives across five imperatives:

1. **Security of Supply** — reliability and resilience of energy systems
2. **Equity & Just Transition** — fairness in distributing costs and benefits
3. **Environmental Sustainability** — ecological impact and climate alignment
4. **Affordability & Economic Efficiency** — cost-effectiveness for consumers and economies
5. **Governance & Institutional Quality** — regulatory transparency, rule of law, and institutional capacity

## How It Works

- Users add two or more energy policy alternatives
- Each policy is scored (0–10) on each of the five imperatives
- The tool applies **Nash bargaining** (a utilitarian compromise-selection mechanism) to identify the most balanced option
- A **proportionality audit** checks whether the chosen policy's trade-offs are transparent and defensible
- Results are visualised via radar charts and comparison tables
